Andover is a wonderful place to experience a week at Nature’s Classroom.  Hidden treasures are everywhere.  The Skungamaug River, flowing right through the property, is full of fish, amphibians, and other creatures waiting to be discovered. With 300 acres of woodlands there are more discoveries around every bend.

Thirty foot tall "Whale Rock" is a popular destination for field groups, and usually leads to a discussion of glacial activity and climate change more than 15 thousand years ago.   Some classes will ponder more recent changes as they hike to a cemetery with stones dating back to the 1700’s.

"Change" is an important theme at Nature's Classroom, including change in nature and change in people.

Here in Andover, the dining hall doubles as a dormitory for around 60 students and has several side rooms for chaperones.  Students can also stay in Freeman Lodge, a beautiful winterized cabin just down the path.

We are fortunate to have a large auditorium on site with a stage that we use for evening programs and also as an indoor recreational area. During free time there is a giant playground, basketball courts, and many open fields to enjoy.

Andover is a great place for a week at Nature's Classroom.
